Jocelyn is working on her H and S sounds. It's so super cute. When we say hi to her she will start practicing 'hhhaa' sounds. They are very breathy at this point, but they are distinct. She often practices her 'SSS', especially after we call her silly. It's a bit lispy, but that's normal. Her tongue sticks out of her mouth and she does a "Thssss." I love it!
We are working on sleep training right now. We just finished day 12 of the "Sleep Lady Shuffle." The first night took 66 minutes of crying the entire time. Tonight took 14 minutes of no crying. Since we started she has slept through the night every night. I SO wish we had done this sooner! All of the good nighttime sleeping has lead to great naps and a super happy baby!
She is putting herself to sleep at nap time as well. Grandma puts her down and walks away. I need to ask how long it takes, but I don't believe it's very long. She's also off of daytime bottles. She still takes a bedtime bottle, but her nap bottle is now gone. My baby isn't a baby anymore!!
Eating has been hit and miss lately. When Jocelyn likes something, she REALLY likes it. I made some roast chicken two weeks ago that she could not get enough of. I made an herb butter that I rubbed under the breast skin, which kept it super moist. And then I rubbed some on the outside of the skin, which made it crispy and delicious. Not that she at the skin, but she did great with the breast meat. She still loves fruit - pretty much all of it. And bread. Her favorite store is Central Market because they have samples of fruits and bread and all sorts of other things. She just eats her way through the store (according to Grandma, anyway). Tonight she did great at the Greek Food festival. She munched on a bunch of gyro meat, chicken kabob, roast chicken, souvlaki and of course the fruit we brought with us. Of course, her favorite thing was probably the honey ball. That kid loves her sweets :-).
She's just such a fun age. 14.5 months is great! A few days ago we were running through the sprinklers, which she thought was super cool. Today I held her by the hands and spun her around. She LOVED it. Gave these cute little giggles. And even though our pool days are probably over for this year, last weekend when we took Jocelyn in the pool she got the biggest grin on her face. It just lit up her entire face, which was so super adorable!
I love my kidaboo!
