20w0d - How did we get to the half-way point?

Seriously... this pregnancy is FLYING by! It probably helps that we know what we're doing this time around, so we're panicking less. Also, we're so busy chasing a toddler around that the days fly by. But this point last time we knew we were having a girl. This time we still don't know. We'll find out on Friday - which I am, of course, super excited about!

It is funny with this being the second time around. I'm certainly a bit more relaxed. With Jocelyn I didn't dare lick the spoon when making brownies. Now, well, I cheat a bit. But in other ways Pecan has such an advantage. Besides my obvious 'been there, done that' rather than 'holy crap' attitudes, I think that Pecan probably has some good developmental stuff happening because we read to Jocelyn so much. When J sits in my lap and I read to her, I am basically reading to my tummy. So that's cool :-).

We're going through the name book and trying to finish evaluating boy names we like, just in case. Boy names are AWFUL. Seriously. That's why every guy you know has like the same 10 names. Because those are the only reasonable ones! To be fair, we're eliminating anything too ethnic (could you imagine us naming a kid Sanjeev, Antonio, etc.?). But when you eliminate anybody in your life, it's MUCH harder with boy names than girl names. For that reason I am hoping for a girl :-P.

I kid, of course. I'll be happy either way. Sure, it would be nice to have one of each. But we already have SO MUCH girl clothes that are barely worn, so it would be convenient to have a girl. Plus Jocelyn would have a same-gender playmate, which would be easier. So there you go.
