CHEESE!!!

At 3 months shy of turning 3, Jocelyn has finally figured out the whole smiling for pictures thing.  When she was a baby, she had a small stint of smiling for the camera - from about ages 6.5-8.5 months.  I think she was interested in the camera, and it made her happy.  After that, she didn't care about the camera. And, as I have mentioned before, Jocelyn only does her own thing at her own time.  So she is not one to, say, smile because you tell her to.

But now, I don't know what happened.  I guess she learned at daycare about saying "cheese" when somebody points a camera at you.  So it's what she does.  And, now, there are smiles in the pictures.  It's awesome :-).

Do-Dyn

Donovan is trying to say Jocelyn.  But instead of J, he used D. And then he drops the ss, and the L also becomes a D.  So it's Do-Dyn.  It's super crazy cute.  We weren't sure that's what he was trying to say, but then we asked him to say Jocelyn, and he answered with "Do-Dyn!"

So he is trying to say his sister's name before he even tries to say his own.  That is sweet :-).

She is his favorite person.  And he is hers.  They are just so cute when they play together.  Tonight they were running back and forth, wrestling a bit, giggling, jumping on me, generally roughhousing and playing.  They laughed and smiled the entire time.  It was adorable!

The only problem is that he plays very rough.  He hits, pulls hair, etc.  He laughs while doing it, and I believe that he means it in a positive way.  But it hurts.  It hurts Jocelyn when he hits her and pulls her hair.  Heck, it hurts me when he does it to me, and I'm like 8x his size!

I am glad he is trying to say her name.  Poor boo really does need more words.  He gets very frustrated, and whines a LOT, because sometimes we just don't understand him.  So he winds up crying a whole lot.
The physical play / roughhousing, does crack me up.  But the ironic part is that he is still very clumsy, so he falls down a lot.  And then he cries.  And then I pick him up, comfort him, and he runs along again.  And then he falls down again.  Lather - Rinse - Repeat.  He also loves to lean on things.  He will lean back into your legs and look up at you, sort of upside down.  He leans back onto the couch.  He loves to lean.  And he leans 100%.  He gives complete trust to whatever he is leaning against. But sometimes he miscalculates.  And then he falls down.  Hard.  Because he falls WITH COMPLETE TRUST that something is holding him.  Poor boo.  And he does it a lot.  The same thing happens when he pushes out of my arms (usually after a comfort cuddle).  He takes of running before he is fully balanced, so he falls down.  And he cries.  Like I said, Lather - Rinse - Repeat.

My little man, at 14 months of age, is still nursing.  I only nurse him at bed time now, and quite honestly, I don't really care how long that goes on.  I'm in no real rush to wean him.  Sure, I would like to do a cleanse, and not have to worry about taking medicine when I need it, but it's just not that big a deal.  He will self-wean eventually.  But here is the adorableness... once bedtime rolls around, I ask him if he wants to nurse.  He gets all excited, and RUNS to his room.  RUNS.  It is super, duper adorable!  He just loves the boob.

I could go on about his adorableness... but I think it's bed time :-P.
