There has been so much going on that who has time to post?
Jocelyn is still practicing her pulling up / standing trick. She has only pulled up on inanimate objects a handful of times. But she's really great at setting our hands where she wants them and pulling up on our fingers. She is now doing a bit of cruising. Now that we have a coffee table in the living room again, it's her new favorite spot to stand. She can't quite turn a corner, but she can go along an entire side of it. She's also doing a whole bunch of assisted free-space walking. The kid wants to get around so badly!
There's still basically no activity on the crawling front! Who knows if she will ever crawl? Sometimes she lunges herself forward and winds up on her tummy, and then she might push herself forward an inch or two, but that's about it.
Jocelyn has started Gymboree classes, which is about the cutest thing ever. It's a 45 minute class where we sing songs, do different strength-building exercises, blow bubbles and have FUN! Plus Jocelyn gets to socialize with other babies and Hubby-poo and I get to socialize with other parents.
Besides that, she's also using the bucket swings at the park. She LOVES the swinging. Her first swing was hesitant. She just wasn't sure what to make of the whole thing. But after a few minutes she started to laugh and smile and have a great time with it. It was WAY too cute :-). Her first swing was on Monday, so February 28. We have pictures. No video yet, but we'll do that next time :-)
She also seems to be working on a few new teeth. They have not yet made an appearance, but I know she's uncomfortable when she nurses, her face seems to be in pain, and she randomly gets cranky as though she's hurting (when she's not hurting, she's all smiles and giggles... it's very Dr. Jeckyl / Mr. Hyde). I hope these teeth pop in soon, though. Because Mama's TIRED!
OH, I forgot to tell you the best part! Earlier this week (Tuesday, so March 1), I was on my way out the door to go to work and Jocelyn was on the living room floor. She looked up at me, put her hands up, and hesitantly and deliberately said "Ma-Me." She hasn't done it since (at least not as deliberately, there's plenty of mamamamama, just like there has been plenty of dadadada). I don't know if she really knew what she was saying or not, but part of me sure wants to think so.
In an unrelated story, she's eating lots more food. We just introduced turkey (her first meat!). She didn't seem too thrilled with it. But she LOVES blueberries, prunes and apricots, does okay with peas and is starting to do better with zucchini. From a jar she liked carrots (she didn't like them when I made them for her, but that was December). And apples and pears are still her absolute favorite. She also eats teething biscuits and Mum Mum crackers. And Whole Wheat is her cereal of choice.
I think that's all for now. I'm sure there's more, but I am too tired to think of it.
