Lots of good news at my 26 week appointment :-). Baby is measuring just fine. She's right on target. I am not at risk for gestational diabetes. I only gained 1 lb since my last appointment (which in total, over 8 weeks, is still too much weight to gain, but I'll take it). My blood pressure has stayed the same (slightly elevated from my normal, but still okay for most people). Baby's heart rate is good, about 149-150 BPM.
Some less than stellar news - my iron has not improved, despite doubling up my iron supplements. So now my doctor wants to give me stronger iron supplements. On a separate, but related story, I'm all sorts of crazy backed up. That is not related to my low iron. But it is a problem that won't be helped by taking iron. So she also has me on Milk of Magnesia. The probiotics stopped being effective for that problem. Coffee stopped being effective. The insane amount of fiber I eat does nothing for me. And the colase I started taking didn't do anything, either. So there you go. Sucks.
I need to monitor my baby's movements. Not necessarily regularly, but only if I notice she isn't moving around much. Also, I need to take note of the cramping. It's not such a big deal with exercise (just need to slow down and drink water). But if it comes while I'm just sitting around then that's a problem. I am starting to swell - my socks are digging into my ankles and my rings are getting tight. I thought it seemed early for that, but the doc wasn't too concerned. But, if I get really swollen then I need to call immediately.
All in all, mama's good and baby's good. So hooray!

I got major cankles when I was pregnant with Julianne. My OB recommended drinking grapefruit juice (which thankfully I love the pink grapefruit variety) to help the body naturally purge itself of the water retention. I must say, it wasn't miraculous, but it did help a bit, that and elevating my feet at night when I was reading or watching TV. It's hard to do that at work, but my OB had recommended sitting w/my feet propped up on something under my desk, when I was at the computer.
I'm glad you got good news at the doc's =) You are a good incubator Ms Malina!
