Jocelyn-boo is a walking fool. Seriously, this child can get pretty much anywhere she wants. She can start in the living room, walk through the kitchen and dining room and back into the living room on the other side. She can turn on a dime. She can walk over obstacles (she hasn't figured out to walk around things that are low to the ground yet). There's no stopping her.
But what's super cute is that she can walk holding your hand. It's *awesome*. She's so happy to walk around the house while holding my finger. The fact that she doesn't *need* to hold it makes it that much more heart-warming. It's like she wants to spend time with us as she practices her new skill. It's so flippin' sweet!
In addition to the extra walking, there has been a bunch of extra eating. Strawberries are totally her favorite food. She likes them better than chicken. Better than bread. Better than Cheerios and Puffs. They are THE BEST. Given the option to eat strawberries and anything else, she chooses the strawberries. So if we want her to eat vegetables and protein, we better hide the strawberries at first. But we need to keep them in view enough that she knows she'll get them if she eats her food.
She's doing well with chicken, as long as it's not ground up chicken paste. She also did well with meatballs that were in my soup. And dumpling middles (which we only gave her a tiny bit of). She does okay with pork, although doesn't love it. What she does love is dairy. Cheese makes her incredibly happy. Grandma buys her Colby cheese and she could probably eat a whole slice if we let her. She also downs the yogurt. We buy some of the Yo Baby pre-blended stuff, but mostly i just blend it myself with full fat organic yogurt and fruit / veggies. Regarding grains, she really only likes whole wheat cereal so far, and likes the puffed rice and oats as finger foods. She also does well with the different grain crackers. She likes quinoa, but does not like the last batch of baby food quinoa I made for her because it had shredded zucchini and cumin.
